Why would anyone want to start their own business and work from home?
Let’s explore that question and break down the positive and negatives to each answer….
* Almost everyone will answer the questions by saying that they would want to be their own boss.
I have to admit, that I certainly do love this perk. When you work from home, you are your own boss and being your own boss is definitely one of the most popular answers to this question. Almost everyone loves the idea of not having to take orders from someone else and just answering to themselves.
On the flip side, being your own boss does come with some responsibilities. These responsibilities include keeping yourself motivated, staying on task, being productive and time management. My previous post’s (Stay Motivated & Focused While Working From Home & Time Management for Successful Affiliate Marketing) goes into more detail about these responsibilities.
* Along with being your own boss, many people will say if they could work at home they could work the hours that they want to and can work the days that they want to.
Another perk of working from home is that you can work when want, as your schedule allows.This allows you to get your special projects completed, spend time with the spouse and/or kids, get your errands done, etc.
Some people who work from home will eventually notice that sometimes they work more hours in a day than they did when they were working for somebody else. This is because sometimes it seems that the time just flies by, especially when you are working on something that love to do. That is why its important to find a niche that you love. * No more commuting to the office!
A perk of a work from home job that you don’t have to commute to the office anymore. The first thing that comes to mind about not commuting to the office is the amount of money you will save on gas. Lets face it, gas is expensive and it isn’t getting cheaper. So, take the commute out of the equation and just think of the money you save. No more commute also means that you wont have to worry about traffic congestion or delays. Now, if you are one of the few people who take public transportation, you will still save money if you work from home.
I really don’t have a negative for this. The only thing I can say is that, it’s a good idea to get fresh air and sunlight when you have your own business that allows you to work from home.
* The fact that you are actually working from home!
A huge perk of a work from home job is that it allows you to work from home. I know that may sound redundant, but it is a perk. A lot of single parents want to be able to be home with their children but they still need to make a living. A lot of spouses want to contribute, or do their part. So a work from home job is perfect for the single parent and the spouse looking to help out.
I really don’t have a negative point for this fact either.
So the question now isn’t why would anyone want to start their own business and work from home?
The real questions should be..
what are you waiting for, why don’t you start your own business?
