Most everyone would like to be their own boss, work their own hours, and some would even love to work from home. Unfortunately, most people never seriously consider starting their business when they are employed. Most people are very busy with their job, their kids, their hobbies, their kids hobbies, or any of those other things that take up our time. So, it seems that there simply isn’t enough time left in the day to start your own business.
So one day, god forbid, something bad happens and you lose your job (for whatever reason). At that point, serious consideration is made to start the home business. Although the loss of a job can be the motivating factor, it’s really not a good idea to wait until that unfortunate incident happens.
Here are just a few of the reasons why you should NOT wait to start your own home based business…
No/limited start-up funds- Starting a business, any business, Affiliate Marketing or any other home based business requires a small investment or some money. You will more than likely have to pay for licensing and/or permits, for your business. You may even consider purchasing a start-up kit. If you have read any of my previous posts (Choosing a Successful Training Program, More On Learning From A Successful Affiliate Training Program, Fast Cash Commissions= Successful Affiliate Marketing), you will know that I am very partial to Fast Cash Commissions. Even if you try keeping your investments to a minimum, at some point you will need to put some money into your new business. Maybe not at first but eventually you will want to consider purchasing ads or maybe some other marketing supplies, some brochures, business cards, etc . Of course this varies for the type of business that you want to start (brick and mortar versus the something online or home based). Anyways, when you are unemployed paying the bills is the most important thing. The amount that you collect from unemployment insurance, your savings, or any other funding that you have access to, is usually needed for that purpose.
Limited time to generate income – Without a steady paycheck coming in, you’ll most likely be pressured and anxious to generate an income. Any business (Affiliate Marketing or any other business) takes time to grow and generate a profit. This fact alone could make you want to quit your pursuit of a successful home based Affiliate Marketing business.
Reduced contacts- While employed, typically you are in contact with a lot of people, or a significant amount. This could include co-workers, clients, suppliers, service providers, etc. Once you are not working, your contacts are typically reduced to family, friends, fellow church members, neighbors, etc.
Conclusion
Starting your own business while you are still employed is much easier and is ideal. A home based business is the perfect option for starting while you are employed. Now you don’t need to invest forty (40) hours a week into your new Affiliate Marketing business. You can start by putting in just a few hours each week. Of course, the amount of time that you invest depends on you. However, try to invest at least three (3) to ten (10) hours a week. Just remember that there’s always nights and weekends. If you manage your time wisely an are persistent, you can be successful and grow your business.
If you are fortunate enough to start your own home based business while you are still employed, here are some key things to keep in mind:
- don’t breach any contracts/agreements with your employer
- don’t steal any of your employers customers
- don’t work on your own home based business while working
- don’t use your employers resources for your business’ benefit
Our economy these days is tough. It’s forcing most people to cut costs. It’s forcing some to seek a second income. If you are at that point (or are coming close), ask yourself if you really want to take on second job. Why take on a second job when you can start your own home based business. Affiliate Marketing is the perfect choice for your home based business. It may grow slowly at first but, it could end up replacing your regular job. Your home based business could also fulfill your dreams of being your own boss, working your own hours, and working from home.
So what are you waiting for… start your home based business today?!?!?
Note: It wasn’t until I lost my job, that I decided to start my own business. I wish I had started my home based business long before I lost my job. It would have been so much easier.

Amazing! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
